L O R D S - CRICKETING HEAVEN

What an amazing feeling it was to enter The Lord's cricket stadium. Its a dream of every human who plays, watches or knows cricket. The feeling can't be expressed in words ..When the tour guide who was one of the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) members took us from one dressing room to another explaining to us about the various interesting facts. For me it down the memory lane ....Lords stadium flashes only one pic in front of my eyes - Kapil Dev holding the World cup in one of the dressing room balconies

the guide was showing us the seating sentiments - Flintoff sits here,Sachin Tendulkar stands there Michael Vaughan sits here and Kevin Peitersen puts his stuff in the corner of this room.It was great.

One surprising thing is that a one of the greatest players in cricketing history  have never had records in this historic ground.Luck factor is very imprtant to score a century on this ground.Ajit Agrakar has a century on this ground when the best of the Indian batsmen failed to make an impact - Tendulkar,Laxman,Dravid and other players.Agarkar has an unbeaten century at this ground where other legends have not been able to do it.After my Lords visit I feel that not all legends who have great records to their credit ,have any record in this stadium.

Thats the honours board I was mentioning that is present in the dressing to remind the players of the records that have been made by their countrymen. I must say that these a source of inspiration to the players while playing at the Lords. Some interesting facts about The Lords
  • Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) remains the guardian of the Laws of cricket ,the spirit of cricket and The Lords
  • Lord's today is not on its original site, being the third of three grounds that Lord established between 1787 and 1814
  • Single shell aluminium semi-monocoque structure prefabricated in 26 sections
  • The current stands at Lords are as follows
    • The Pavilion
    • Warner Stand
    • Grandstand
    • Compton Stand
    • Media Center
    • Edrich Stand
    • Mound Stand
    • Tavern Stand
    • Allen Stand
Finally must say Lords is a must visit place for every one who visits LONDON.
